Origins
It started with DJ@Penn
Booth started in 2021 as DJ@Penn, a student DJ community at the University of Pennsylvania. It grew to more than a thousand members, with beginner classes, shared equipment, and events around Philadelphia. 34th Street Magazine covered it in “Hitting the Decks with Penn’s DJs” (opens in new tab).
The membership is what that community grew into: studios in Philadelphia and Boston, a year of events like the ones above, and a network of DJs, instructors, and people in the industry. If that sounds like your kind of thing, membership is by application.
