On the decks
Sound familiar?
Most DJs who learned alone hit the same wall — the mix works in the bedroom, and nowhere else.
Eight hours of pressure drills behind club decks, with a working DJ correcting you in real time — that's what closes the gap between mixing at home and performing in a room.
By session four
01
Screens down, sync off. Find the tempo by hand, lock tracks in by listening alone, and trust your ears in a loud room.
02
Pitch drifts, a cue misfires, an exit goes wrong — you fix it before the dancefloor ever notices.
03
A Rekordbox library built for performing: cues, loops, energy planning, and echo, filter, and reverb used with taste.
04
Your capstone: an advanced set performed under pressure on CDJ-style club gear — recorded, and yours to send to promoters.
Curriculum
Every session is hands-on drills and reps on club gear — building to a capstone set you perform and record.
01

2 hours
Strip away the visual crutches. Manual tempo finding, ear-led beatmatching, and fast corrections when pitch, cues, or EQ slip.
02

2 hours
Phrase-aware blends, clean EQ discipline, hot cues, and loops — to extend mixes, rescue exits, and stay in control of any transition.
03

2 hours
Sequence a set in Rekordbox, plan energy across a full hour, and layer echo, filter, and reverb without losing the mix.
04

2 hours
Pressure drills and booth readiness on CDJ-style gear, then your advanced set — performed, recorded, and ready to share.
What's included
Four 2-hour sessions, all hands-on.

DJs who can already beatmatch and hold a mix — self-taught, controller-trained, or course graduates — who want to sound tight under pressure on real club gear. It's an advanced 8-hour course taught in a pair: you, one other DJ, and a working DJ coaching you.
Yes — that's exactly the jump this course makes. If you can hold a mix on a controller, we'll translate everything to club-standard Pioneer DJ® gear: the CDJ-style layout, the mixer, and the habits that transfer to any booth.
If you can beatmatch and hold a mix, you're ready. If you're still learning to beatmatch, Intermediate Entry will get you here faster than starting Perform underprepared. Take the 60-second placement quiz or reach out — we'll tell you straight.
Four 2-hour sessions: mixing by ear, transitions and recovery, Rekordbox prep and FX, and a capstone set you perform under pressure on CDJ-style gear. Each session is hands-on — drills and reps, not lectures.
Because deck time is the whole point. In a pair you're mixing for half of every session with an instructor correcting you in real time — and one other DJ in the room is enough to make performing feel real.
All sessions are in-person at our studio location in Center City, Philly. Hands-on feedback on real club gear is the point.
No equipment — everything is provided, including club-standard Pioneer DJ® gear and studio-grade monitors. If you'd like to work with your own library, you're welcome to bring your laptop or a USB and mix with your own music.
If you want sessions built entirely around your own goals instead of a structured syllabus, Private Coaching covers the same advanced modules 1:1 — four private sessions at the pack rate is $1,080.
You can cancel or reschedule any session up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund or credit. Checking availability costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
