What you'll be able to do.

01

Beatmatch by ear

Count bars, phrase transitions, and lock two tracks together without staring at waveforms.

02

Mix with EQ confidence

Use harmonic mixing and clean EQ to blend genres and keep energy flowing.

03

Build a complete set

Select tracks, shape energy, and perform a full set from open to close.

04

Step up for real

Leave ready to play for friends, small events, or your next practice milestone.

Curriculum

Six lessons.
One progression.

Each session builds on the last — from equipment basics to your first recorded performance on Pioneer DJ® club gear.

01

DJing Background lesson

Week 1: DJing Background

Learn about vinyl, CDJs, and the history of modern mixing equipment. Master song selection by key, genre, and BPM. Become an artist of set design and controlling musical atmosphere and energy. You'll also meet the wider Booth community — who's in the room, what events are coming, and what membership looks like when you're ready.

02

Equipment lesson

Week 2: Equipment

Discover the functions of the modern Pioneer DJ® club mixer and deck. Learn about input devices, and how sound is created.

03

Software lesson

Week 3: Software

Choose the right software for your interests. Understand the difference between Serato and Rekordbox, compared to other tools on the market.

04

Beat Matching By Ear lesson

Week 4: Beat Matching By Ear

Learn how to count beats, about the basic structure of songs in various genres, and about the fundamentals of beatmatching by ear. Learn phrasing, cueing, and nudging.

05

EQ and Music Theory lesson

Week 5: EQ and Music Theory

Discover the components of a song, how EQ can be used to create fullness in the mix and master smooth transitions. Master harmonic mixing, the Camelot wheel, and musical moods.

06

Loops, Effects, and Your First Performance lesson

Week 6: Loops, Effects, and Your First Performance

Master looping with slip mode, in transitions, and with EQ. Discover Beat & Color FX, and learn to use them to elevate your first performance. Record a promo-ready set to share — then graduate into the community: the people who hear it, the room time ahead, and your invitation to join as a founding member.

What happens after week 6

The course is the
beginning, not the end.

Finishing Pro DJ Fundamentals means you have the fundamentals Booth membership is built on.

  • Beatmatch by ear, mix with confidence, and leave with a recorded set — the skills founding members use every week.
  • Recurring CDJ room time, member events, and 30% off all instruction — including private coaching after the course.
  • Course graduates are explicitly invited to apply. If you completed Pro DJ Fundamentals, you qualify.
