FAQ
Still unsure? Reach out — we'll help you find the best starting point.
Yes. First Transition is built for people with zero DJ experience. In two hours you'll get behind the decks, learn how DJing works, and make your first transition. No prior experience, music theory, or equipment needed.
First Transition is designed for beginners trying DJing for the first time. If you already have experience, our Pro DJ Fundamentals course, Pro DJ Advanced course, or Private Coaching are better fits.
All sessions are in-person at our studio location in Center City, Philly. We believe hands-on training with direct feedback is the most effective way to learn DJing.
First Transition follows a clear step-by-step flow: get comfortable with the gear, learn beats, bars, and phrases, make your first transition with instructor support, and see what continuing into Pro DJ Fundamentals looks like.
Nothing is needed– except for a positive attitude, of course! If you don't feel comfortable sharing headphones, feel free to bring a pair.
No. First Transition is a standalone two-hour first class. If you love it, you can continue into the remaining five weeks of Pro DJ Fundamentals — but there's no obligation to continue.
No. All equipment is provided. You'll train on professional Pioneer DJ® equipment during your session.
We teach on club-standard Pioneer DJ® equipment, so we use Rekordbox. First Transition focuses on hands-on mixing; we'll introduce the software basics as part of getting you on the decks.
If you already know the basics, you'd probably get more from Pro DJ Fundamentals or Private Coaching. Reach out and we'll help you find the best starting point.
