Is Club Start right for you?

Check before you book.

A few quick signs this is the right door — and where to go if it isn't.

  • 01You've mixed at home on a controller, or synced tracks together before
  • 02You can find your way around a music library and basic EQ
  • 03You want direct feedback and club-standard gear, not another tutorial
  • 04You're not sure exactly where you rank — that's what the class is for

Never touched club gear?

First Transition is the better starting point — same course, earlier door.

Confident beatmatching fully by ear?

Pro DJ Advanced will move faster than Club Start.

  • 05An honest read on what's already solid and what to sharpen before the classes ahead
  • 06A confirmed starting point in Pro DJ Fundamentals — Booth's core DJ course — set by your instructor, based on the work you did in class

The path

From coaching
to graduation.

01

Your Club Start class

Two hours on professional club gear with an instructor — Rekordbox and digital setup, EQ, phrasing, and music structure, coached around what you already know instead of a fixed lesson plan.

02

Your starting point, confirmed

By the end of the class your instructor sets exactly where you pick up Pro DJ Fundamentals — Booth's core DJ course — so you're not repeating what you've got or skipping what you don't.

03

The classes that follow

You join Pro DJ Fundamentals partway through, for the parts that take the most reps: beat matching by ear, musical keys, loops, and effects.

04

Record your set

Finish with the same recorded performance every Pro DJ Fundamentals student does — a set you keep. From there: Pro DJ Advanced, private coaching, or membership.

Curriculum

Skip the basics.
Learn the rest in full.

Club Start covers the same ground as the back half of Pro DJ Fundamentals — it just folds the first three classes (background, equipment, software) into one catch-up session built for people who already play a bit.

01

Club Start class

Your catch-up class

Club Start

Get up to speed on professional Pioneer DJ® club gear, Rekordbox and digital tools, EQ, and reading a song's structure — the ground Pro DJ Fundamentals covers across its first three classes, focused on the gaps a self-taught DJ actually has.

02

Beat Matching By Ear class

Pro DJ Fundamentals

Beat Matching By Ear

Learn how to count beats, about the basic structure of songs in various genres, and about the fundamentals of beatmatching by ear. Learn phrasing, cueing, and nudging.

03

EQ and Music Theory class

Pro DJ Fundamentals

EQ and Music Theory

Discover the components of a song, how EQ can be used to create fullness in the mix and master smooth transitions. Master harmonic mixing, the Camelot wheel, and musical moods.

04

Loops, Effects, and Your First Performance class

Pro DJ Fundamentals

Loops, Effects, and Your First Performance

Master looping with slip mode, in transitions, and with EQ. Discover Beat & Color FX, and learn to use them to elevate your first performance. Record a promo-ready set to share.
